It's Friday and Bicycle Day!!! ✨🤩 🚲

Hey Folks! Apologies for the lack of newsletter last week, I had a bit of an extreme situation unfold at the AirBnB I was staying at, and it derailed my ability to work on content. But we’re back, and just in time.
Anyways, it’s BICYCLE DAY!!! Bicycle day is the international anniversary of the day that LSD was “discovered” by scientist Albert Hoffman, and subsequently took a very trippy bike ride home on the first known LSD trip.
If you’re not familiar with the story, watch this youtube video, which does a decent job of summarizing that wild and pioneering day.
On a related note, if you’re curious about the visual effects of higher dose psychedelics, this video does an excellent job of showing you what high dose visual effects are like. Fair warning: this video is a bit anxiety inducing and not necessarily exemplary of a “good trip”; but it’s so accurately done I thought I’d share.
And here’s a pretty good example of higher dose LSD effects with eyes open, probably not too dissimilar from what Hoffman experienced.
Lastly, some music to share…
If you like deep ambient chill for either psychedelic journeys, or just to relax to, here’s an artist I really like for more the more relaxing side of the genre:
If you prefer your ambient with a much more psychedelic edge, I can’t recommend Ishq enough. He is, IMHO, an actual top tier genius of electronic music who just happens to specialize in headphone friendly, super psychedelic ambient. It’s the ultimate companion and spiritual nourishmnet for those deep inward journeys.
If you’re prone to a Bicycle Day type psychedelic journey, this particular album may come in handy, complete with samples of Timothy Leary saying to “relax, focus inside, inward, more deeply, you…”. Hypnotic Indeed!
And lastly, I’ve been returning over and over to Jon Hopkins’ tune Immunity from his album of the same name, which feels appropriately soothing in a world that feels increasingly ragged.
Wherever you find yourself, and whatever you do this weekend, I hope you’re doing well and I hope you celebrate the uncanny strangeness of life in whatever way you find most appropriate.
Warmly,
Dave
